Scholarships and Awards

Rho Chapter recognizes our brothers' accomplishments each school year. The yearly Chapter awards that are presented at our annual Red Carnation Ball are:

Additionally, active brothers can apply for awards and scholarships distributed by the International Fraternity. TKE does an excellent job of recognizing success in the classroom. Though it is a common oversight, it is actually very important for brothers to succeed in the class room. The chapter grade point average is essential to the success of the fraternity. After all, there would be no fraternity if there were no students in good standing to participate.

Rho Chapter also awards two scholarship in honor of two of our fellow Fraters: P737 Robert Butcher and P833 Phil Tennant. These scholarships are awarded by the Chapter Advisor and Alumni Association Scholarship Chairman, Gary Bass, to two exceptional Fraters. The criteria is based on GPA, attendance at Chapter events, participation and position in the Chapter.

Blueprints for the future are forming. With the Alumni Association in place and membership growing, the next step is to continue renovations with the hope that enough money can be raised to demolish and rebuild a state of the art fraternity house where Rho Chapter can continue to thrive at West Virginia University. We are currently making strides at becoming a consistent candidate for Best Fraternity on Campus at WVU and TKE Superior Rated Chapter. It is a very exciting time to be involved with the fraternity.
